How to fetch Covearts by MPD-Client App?

Hi

How should I get the covert images from Collybia OS / myMPD to MPD-Client ( like MPoD ) app?

I tried symbolic link command via ssh as below, but failed;

ln -s /mnt /srv/http/covers

Thank you.

Try the following:

mkdir -p /var/www/covers
mkdir -p /var/www/Music
ln -s /var/lib/mpd/music /var/www/covers

ln -s /var/lib/mpd/music /var/www/Music

🙂

Hi admin,

Thank you for your advice.

However, it was unsuccessful again 🙁

MPD client App (yaMPC for iOS) says;

HTTP 404 error: couldn't download http://collybia.local/covers/nas-samba/(coverart file name).

On the other hand, I found the article at this app's support page as below.

https://www.openaudiolab.com/yampc/coverart/

I will try this and report.

I search a little about it and i missed the base for it to work.

You will need an extra web-server.

You can install lighttpd (pacman -S lighttpd) and configure it at port 8081 to serve covers but as i see MPdroid needs a different setup than others and i have never use such apps.

start your new web-server (systemctl start lighttpd) and...

then you will need to do this:

ln -s /var/lib/mpd/music /srv/http/music

After all this, you will find the music folder at http:/collybia.local:8081/music

PS. More stable is to use the ip address of your RPi.

If you find a way let us know, please!

Hi

It was successful to set up!  Thank you very much.

But in my case, I had to uncomment some part on pacman.conf to install lighttpd.

( At first packman shown a message ' error: target not found: lighttpd ')

Thanks again for your support.

Hi,

There was some problem about installing lighttpd yet, I will report as below.

--Using lighttpd with CollybiaOS

1- Check "Pacman.conf", uncomment the part of repositories setting;

[core]

Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

[extra]

Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

[community]

Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

2- Install lighttpd via pacman;

pacman -S lighttpd

3- Make another "error.log" ;

touch /etc/lighttpd/error.log

chmod 666 /etc/lighttpd/error.log

4- Edit lighttpd.conf

nano /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf

(lighttpd.conf)

server.port = 8080

server.errorlog = "/var/log/lighttpd/error.log"

-->

server.port = 8081

server.errorlog = "/etc/lighttpd/error.log"

5- Start lighttpd

systemctl start lighttpd

6- Make symbolic link

ln -s /var/lib/mpd/music /srv/http/music

Thank you Ktmr !

Watch with pacman -Sy command, can cause multiple problems at Archlinux (which is the base of Collybia OS). Comment back the # from pacman.conf to avoid any trouble.

Very kind of you to share a guide with us.

Hi,

I had done re-comment at the part of Repo.

Thank you for your advice 🙂
